The Dental Implant Treatment Process
Missing Tooth
The first is the extraction, or falling out, of the problem tooth and then the gum preparation.
Placement of Implant
Next is the installation of the titanium screw in the jaw, that replaces the natural root. This metal “root” acts as an anchor which is firmly in place in your jawbone.
Restoration of Implant
The final stage is where an implant crown, moulded to match your teeth, is attached to the screw.

I have just finished having crowns fitted by Anthony Coyne and an implant by Mr Iqbal and am very happy with the service I received. I was kept informed of every process and my new teeth are great. All the staff at the practice were lovely and friendly. I would certainly recommend them.

Is it safe to have dental implants?

I have some of my own teeth. Can I have implants?
Yes. We are able to replace everything from a single tooth to a complete set of teeth.
Do implants hurt?
You will not feel any pain during the procedure as it is usually done using a local aesthetic. Like any extraction, there may be a small level of discomfort following the surgery. This will usually subside after a week at maximum though.
If I had gum disease when I had my own teeth, will I get it with the implants?
Gum disease will affect your implants in the same way it affects your teeth. Make sure they are looked after carefully and have them regularly checked to avoid damage.
Are the implants visible?
No. They are designed to look like natural teeth and show no signs of falsehood.
